Some scattered notes on a new setting for a new campaign:

I want to use Sine Nomine's excellent Red Tide setting as a framework for a post-apocalyptic science fantasy campaign. And I want to throw everything into this one. I used to think that I wanted to keep my magic and my mutations separate, but recently that's completely changed.

So I'm looking at a Mutant Future campaign with some sort of home-brewed spellcaster class that can keep up with the higher power threshold that comes with the MF rules. There are probably dozens of house rules I want to employ (I'm a compulsive tinkerer), but MF provides a good startinf framework.

As far as the setting is concerned, I envision the Red Tide islands as a sort of time-displaced Lost Land, where magic and technology are both in evidence. Dinosaurs, robots, fey, demons, mutants and maybe even some aliens all in the mix. I'm still fuzzy on how all these disparate elements will mesh, but I'm also committed to letting as much of that shake out in play as possible. So I just have to figure out what the bare minimum I need to do to get this off the ground.

I'll try to post some more of my basic framework (encounter charts, hex stocking, &c) later. For now, I hope anyone reading this who has experience in this kind of setting will offer some outset advice. It's much appreciated!
